Scotts CEO Jim Hagedorn apologizes for ‘colorful language’ after 3 directors quit
Today in apologies from Central Ohio leaders – Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. CEO Jim Hagedorn. The Marysville-based lawn and garden company Monday announced the resignation of three board members following a unanimously supported reprimand of Hagedorn for using inappropriate language.
The press release notes that the resignations were not related to disagreements on the company’s operations, policies, practices or financial reporting and it included an apology from Hagedorn.
“While I have a tendency to use colorful language, I recognize my comments in this case were inappropriate and I apologize,” he said. “I, along with the rest of our board members, consider the matter resolved and I have made a personal commitment to prevent a future recurrence.”
