Michigan Budget Director John Nixon returning to Utah; Gov. Rick Snyder announces replacements
LANSING, MI — Michigan Budget Director John Nixon is stepping down at the end of February to take a high-ranking university job in his home state of Utah.
Gov. Rick Snyder announced the pending departure on Thursday and explained that two current appointees will take over for Nixon, who also serves as the director of the Department of Technology, Management and Budget.
John Roberts, who has worked as Snyder’s deputy chief of staff since July of 2011, will be named budget director and earn $149,350 a year. Legal advisor Beth Clement will take his place as deputy chief of staff.
