Governor OK’d Nevada Guard to fly gravely ill civilian to Oregon
Gov. Brian Sandoval said Thursday he authorized the use of a Nevada Air National Guard aircraft in December to transport a critically ill woman to a hospital in Oregon for treatment.
Sandoval said he could not discuss the woman’s illness or any other details about her condition out of respect for the patient’s privacy.
“It was a woman who was mortally ill and could not get the care that she needed in Northern Nevada, and there was the opportunity to get her treatment in Oregon,” the governor said. “So we had to take extraordinary measures to get her there.” …
