Congressman Williams invites local high school students to participate in the 2014 Congressional Art Competition
This week, U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX) invited high school students residing in the 25th District of Texas to participate in the annual Congressional Art Competition by submitting their original pieces of art.
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and each congressional district. The 2013 contest winners may be viewed on the U.S. House Congressional Art Competition website.
The winning entry will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, and the student will receive two round-trip airline tickets to Washington, D.C. to attend the unveiling of their artwork in the Capitol and a reception honoring the winners in June. All high school students residing in Texas’ 25th District are eligible to enter.
