Carol Platt gets former U.S. Rep. Dave Weldon’s endorsement in D-9 race
Republican congressional candidate Carol Platt has received the endorsement of former U.S. Rep. Dave Weldon in a three-way Republican primary race to take on Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson in District 9.
Platt’s campaign announced the endorsement of Weldon, the Brevard County physician who represented that area in Congress from 1995 through 2009.
“I have known Carol Platt and her family for 20 years and I am pleased to endorse her candidacy for Congress. Her track record of accomplishment and her dedication to conservative principles are what we need in Washington DC.,” Weldon stated in a release issued by the campaign. “I am confident not only in her ability to win in November but more important in her ability go to Congress and fight for the values that made this nation great.”
Platt faces two other Republicans in District 9, Peter Vivalde and Jorge Bonilla Jr.
