U.S. Rep. Shimkus Seeking Re-election in 2014
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – U.S. Rep. John Shimkus, R-Collinsville, will seek re-election next year.
Shimkus will make the news official on Monday with a series of stops across Illinois’ 15th District.
Shimkus cruised to victory in 2012 with 69 percent of the vote and in 2010 with 71 percent. His only loss in a congressional election came in 1992 to Dick Durbin, now a U.S. senator.
Shimkus, a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, will kick off his re-election announcements Monday at Turtle Run in Danville at 9:00 a.m. before making stops in Charleston, Salem, and Troy.
