Vern Buchanan Calls for Obama to Back Keystone XL Pipeline
U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., urged President Barack Obama to back the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. Buchanan pointed to a State Department study which found it would not lead to an explosion in greenhouses gasses and would create 42,000 jobs.
“There is simply no excuse to delay this job-creating project any longer,” said Buchanan. “The pipeline offers us a prime opportunity to boost our nation’s energy security and strengthen the economy by creating tens of thousands of new American jobs. We owe it to the American people to quit the partisan rhetoric and break ground on this shovel-ready project immediately.”
