State Attorney Jerry Hill’s Office Will Continue to Prosecute Judge Harlan
BARTOW | A judge has ruled State Attorney Jerry Hill and his prosecutors should not be removed from handling the criminal case against Circuit Judge Beth Harlan.
Harlan, 55, and her former judicial assistant, Alisha Rupp, 34, were arrested last year on charges of falsifying Rupp’s time sheets so Rupp would get paid for time she didn’t work, according to complaint affidavits.
In addition, Rupp is accused of making false allegations against a bailiff, saying he threatened to use a stun gun on her when she refused to have sex with him.
