Ribble Pushing for Federal Propane Legislation

Wisconsin Congressman Reid Ribble is cosponsoring a bill to help to address the ongoing propane shortage in Wisconsin and the Midwest. Specifically, the measure would provide a guaranteed extension of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s emergency declarations and waivers until May 31, 2014.
A member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, Ribble says the move allows for temporary waivers from hours of service requirements to help propane reach customers more quickly.
“I’m pleased to work with Chairman Shuster and my colleagues in introducing this important legislation,” Ribble said. “Families throughout Wisconsin have struggled to heat their homes this winter due to the propane shortage, so we need to allow as much flexibility as possible to get propane into the state. I am hopeful that the House will act quickly on this bill.”
