SPRINGFIELD, PA— Congressman Patrick Meehan (PA-07) today announced the nomination of 35 local students to one of the United States’uniformed service academies.
“It’s a true honor to have the chance to nominate these talented young men and women for admission to our nation’s service academies,” said Rep. Meehan. “I’m inspired by the many smart and driven young people willing to answer their nation’s call to serve and I have every confidence they’ll be successful. I congratulate them and their families and I wish them the best.”
To assist in the nomination process, Rep. Meehan appointed local distinguished community members with a military background to a nonpartisan Academy Advisory Board. Nominees are selected based on factors such as academic achievements, leadership skills, extracurricular activities, physical aptitude, character and motivation.
