Kwasman stumps in Safford; Chastises Tobin for backing out of debate
SAFFORD — Whether his critics attack him for being too conservative or too inexperienced, the one thing state Rep. Adam Kwasman, R-Oro Valley, has done is shown up.
Kwasman, who, after one term in the state House is running to be the Republican challenger for Arizona Congressional District 1, made an appearance at the Graham County Republican Women’s Club on Friday and made his pitch as to why Graham County should back him. Other Republican candidates for the right to challenge incumbent U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., include Arizona Speaker of the House Andy Tobin, R-Paulden, and rancher Gary Kiehne, of Springerville, who described himself as an “old country kid.”
At the Women’s Club meeting, Kwasman said he was polling neck and neck with Kirkpatrick even though his name recognition is only at 23 percent compared to 95 percent for Kirkpatrick.
