Johnson Joins Effort to Protect Veterans, Prevent Rampant Child Tax Credit Fraud

WASHINGTON — The following information was released by the office of Texas Rep. Sam Johnson:

Today, Congressman Sam Johnson (TX-03) joined Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick’s (PA-08) bipartisan effort to protect veterans from a hit to their pensions due to a provision included in the Murray-Ryan budget, the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013. Johnson offered to offset the cost with his common-sense, cost-saving bill, H.R. 556, the Refundable Child Tax Credit Eligibility Verification Reform Act.
