Dave Trott adds $450,000 to his campaign warchest in race against Bentivolio
WASHINGTON — Birmingham lawyer and businessman Dave Trott continued to raise funds at a brisk pace in the last three months of the year, adding about $450,000 as he builds a warchest to take on fellow Republican U.S. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, R-Milford.
Trott’s campaign issued a release Thursday saying he had raised more than $1 million. As the Free Press reported some months ago, Trott raised nearly $650,000 of that in his first month on the campaign trail.
About $200,000 of that was from contributions out of his own pocket or in-kind contributions he provided the campaign. In the last three months of the year, he raised some $250,000 through outside fundraising and provided another $200,000 out of his own money, according to the campaign.
