Bobby Jindal, Mary Landrieu and more weigh in on David Vitter governor’s race announcement
U.S. Sen. David Vitter confirmed Tuesday (Jan. 21) he would be running for governorof Louisiana in 2015. Here are some reactions to the announcement:
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R): “It is far too early for me to be making an endorsement.”
“I appreciate his working with us on an issue that I think is one of the most important issues in the state of Louisiana.” — regarding Jindal’s 2012 education overhaul
“I also appreciate his steadfast opposition to Obamacare, to the ACA.”
U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D): “I’m sure there will be a large field of candidates in the governor’s race, and hope whoever runs will put the people of Louisiana and our state’s economic future ahead of their own political ambitions, which has sadly not been the case during the last several years and has been harmful. With all the challenges we face, I believe that it is in the best interest of our state that we retain the seniority our delegation has in Congress.”
